Commission Regulation (EC) No. 340/2008 on the fees and charges payable to the European Chemicals Agency for services related to REACH was came into force on 20 April 2008.
The Regulation identifies those services for which a fee must be paid, and the rules for payment. It also provides for reduced fees for joint registrations, SME’s and Intermediates.
Compared to earlier estimations the fees are generally higher than predicted. Fees for SMEs have been further divided into medium, small and micro-enterprises, and are significantly lower for small (<50 employees) and micro-enterprises( <10 employees). Only registrants have to submit a registration for each company (per substance) they represent. Their fees will also be based on the size of the company they represent. Fees will be reviewed annually and take into account inflation
What you can expect to pay forIndustry will have to pay for most services provided by ECHA, and fees have been set for:
ECHA may also charge for any other service it provides. Where there is no set fee, the fee will be proportional to the amount of work involved by ECHA. What it will costUse the table to find out what fees might apply to you.
Registration Updates which are free of charge.Certain updates to registrations will be processed free of charge. These are:
Payment of feesThe first time you use REACH-IT you will be asked to create a company account and provide billing information. Invoices will be generated automatically and in most cases will specify the date by which is should be paid. The period within which the invoice must be paid varies as shown below.
If payment deadlines are not met, ECHA will set a further deadline after which they can reject the registration or submission in full. If this happens you will have to resubmit all your data again. Any payments already made will not be refunded. Items for which there is no set deadline for payment will be not be considered received by ECHA, and therefore will not be processed, until the appropriate fee has been paid. Fee Tables 2008/2009The fees quoted in these tables will be valid until at least 1st June 2009.
